It’s been a week, hasn’t it?

I don’t know about you, but there are days when everything feels like a it’s on spin cycle —work deadlines, personal to-dos, that never-ending push to “show up” and “be seen.” It's easy to lose track of what matters, to feel like you're just reacting to life rather than living it with intention.

This week, I found myself returning to a piece of Stoic wisdom from Epictetus:

“We suffer more in imagination than in reality.” - Epictetus

So often, we get wrapped up in "what ifs" and anxieties, imagining the worst outcomes, stressing about things we can't control. But the Stoics remind us to pause. To reflect. To bring ourselves back to the present.

What if we could apply this approach to our content and branding strategy, too? Instead of feeling overwhelmed by all the noise, all the expectations, all the pressure to be “perfect,” we could simply focus on what is. On showing up as our most authentic selves, sharing our stories honestly, and letting go of everything that falls outside our control.

Here are some things to try as you head into the weekend

  • Set an Intention Before You Create: Before jumping into content creation, ask yourself, “What message do I want to send today?” Don't let the noise dictate your voice; let your voice cut through the noise.

  • Release Perfectionism: Content creation can be messy. Sometimes you'll stumble over words, sometimes a post won’t land as you expected—and that’s okay. Perfection is not the goal; connection is. Share authentically, even if it's imperfect.

  • Let Go of Outcomes: In the Stoic tradition, the only thing you control is your actions—not the reactions of others. Share content that aligns with your values and trust that the right people will connect with it. The likes, shares, and comments will come, but they aren't the reason you create.

When you feel overwhelmed, ask yourself, “Is this real, or am I suffering in imagination?” And see how you can apply this clarity to your work, your content, and your life.
